TribeCast feedback

topic posted Thu, September 30, 2004 - 12:57 PM by  Gary
Hi all,

We're currently working on fixing the tribecast bug that most of y'all have noticed.

But in the meantime, I wanted to start a discussion around feedback/suggestions/ideas for making tribecast more useful/fun/interesting for y'all.

Are there other types of things you'd like to tribecast, besides friends, listings, and tribes?

Is tribecast easy for you to customize?

    Gary,

TribeCast is very cool - I just discovered it yesterday, and after getting past the necessity to disable Norton Internet Security, it works great. In fact, some of my buddies who read my blogsite left messages indicating that by seeing the different tribes listed, it is much more of an enticement to join.

At this point, I'm not sure what other things would be appropriate/reasonable to tribecast... I'll give it some thought.

    Thanks,

    Millard

I love this for my blog. I really would like to specify what tribes I have listed though. Just because the ones that come up aren't necessarily my favs or the ones that I want my blog readers to view.
I'm having some issues with it working right, but will get those ironed out. Still all the people that I know that don't Tribe can now think I'm even more obsessed/addicted. WooT!

tribecast is a great feature - modular distributed publishing blows my mind!

the wizard is a good start but you need to make the exported module a tad more customizable. I don't keep a separate blog but I do publish my own web page in straight HTML + CSS and I can't seem to change the font-size of the returned javascript code so the tribe module for friends looks bad because the text is not formattable and is just too huge.

the capacity to fetch this type of info dynamically from my own site is really super great though! thanks for putting in the work. i'm also really interested in new ways of leveraging FOAF + Tribe... any new ideas going on in that space?

    thnx,

    I think that the basic
    MyTribe, My Friends, My Listings
are good, but would be better if we were TribeCasting the content for our New Profiles. That way we can use the list of friends, for example, that the module created. Same thing for Tribes... by TribeCasting a smaller defined group of tribes with the User Profile Modules.

....Wish I could TribeCast the local events

Tribecasting individual modules on the profile is an awesome idea. I hope that we will be able to extend the profiles to allow for that - it is a very natural extension of the functionality and it solves what I think a big limitation, in that we can't choose friends, tribes, or listings to show.
